A New York City substitute teacher was fired after she asked her 4th grade students for romantic advice about her relationships with two different men.

Cassandre Fiering, 45, asked students to act out conversations where they would play the part of the men, both of whom are in their 30s, according to The Daily Mail. The kids were ages nine and 10.

The incident happened last June at Public School 189 in the Bronx. Fiering said she was stuck in the classroom with five students without a lesson plan while the rest of the class was on a field trip. So she decided to act out the conversations.

According to DNAinfo New York, students said she called them her "munchkins" and told them to toilet paper one of the men's home.

A report by investigators said that she hugged one student, tapped another on his shoulder and touched two on their thighs. Fiering insisted that none of the touching was inappropriate, and that she couldn't remember whether she hugged one of the students.

The kids, who were asked to help her choose between the two men, advised Fiering to break up with the younger of the two men who was not returning her calls.

Fiering told DNAinfo that the conversation was harmless and that the kids thought it was fun:
"The kids were saying, 'Oh, we're your counselor.' They were excited to have me listen to their advice. ...They were saying all kinds of things, trying to help me because this guy was being a jerk to me. It was also G-rated. I certainly wasn't talking about sex or anything."
Fiering is also an actress who has had small roles in commercials, movies and television. At an audition on Tuesday, she told DNAinfo that the investigation report was misleading.

"They made it seem like I was this gross person fondling all the children," she said.

She admitted that it was poor judgement to bring her romantic life into the classroom, but told The New York Daily News that she would appeal her dismissal.

"I've been slandered, the quotes were bogus," she said. "This is the biggest bunch of crap I've heard in my life."

Fiering has since ended her relationship with both men, according to DNAinfo.

She said the young man was "just a weird guy and I never really figured it out," while the older boyfriend was "very sweet, but not really right for me."
