Ntando Duma is a South African actress and television personality best known as the presenter on e.tv’s youth programming block, Craz-e, where she has predominantly featured on Craz-e World live.


She is also best known for her portrayal of Zinzi Dandala on e.tv’s soap opera Rhythm City.

She was born on August 29, 1995.

Early life and family:

Ntando Duma was born in the township of Soweto in Johannesburg in the Gauteng province of South Africa. She grew up in the township of Orange Farm located approximately 45 km from Johannesburg. She was raised in Orange Farm in the Gauteng province by her mother and her grandmother. Ntando Duma is one of four children; she has three sibling including her sister, Thando Duma. “I grew up in Orange Farm with my grandmother. We didn’t really have much to go around, so the circumstances did not really allow for any of us to have pocket money or attend expensive schools.

“We managed, however, to have a normal childhood. Like any other child in the street we would play games and didn’t really worry about what was happening at home,” she was quoted by the Sunday World in August 2015.

Ntando Duma’s father left the family when she was three years old and passed away in 2008; according to the Sunday World August 2015 article, she described the experience as the lowest point in her life.

Education:

She attended at Kwabhikelanga High School in Alexandra, Gauteng before studying media at Boston Media House.

Love life:

She was in a relationship with boyfriend DJ Junior Da Rocka. She later confirmed that they were no longer together but are still co-parenting their daughter Sbahle.

Children:

In July 2017 she delivered a baby girl whose name is Sbahle Lisakhanya Mzizi and she is the face of Cute Kids Baby Nappies.

Abuse allegations:

Ntando has taken to social media sharing that she has suffered in the hands of her ex-boyfriend, Junior.

She posted an image of her notes where she expressed how Junior would abuse her emotionally and physically.

According to Ntando, she once caught her ex-boyfriend in bed with another woman, December 25th in 2016 and he apparently physically assaulted her.

In hitting back, Junior claims that Ntando accusations are unfounded and malicious further claiming that he supports his daughter as required. The battled baby father has even posted receipts of money sent to Ntando for the child's upkeep.

Well, as it appears, things have not been smooth between the two, and the social media battle continues.

Ntando is known as a Twitter clap-back user. She has defended herself over allegations of people questioning her parenthood and the well being of her daughter.

This was after Ntando posted a picture of her daughter in a car which was parked at a mall. Ntando responded to everyone who questioned her as a parent, she didn't allow the cyber-bullying and defended herself.

Career:

Ntando Duma started her career by distributing vine videos and eventually, she had the hang of presenting. As a starter, she presented Sistahood, Craz-e and ShizNiz.

Before joining e.tv, Ntando was a verification officer with a firm called BEE STRATA. After e.tv Craz-e launched a search for a presenter in 2014, she auditioned and was selected to presents alongside a fellow newcomer by the name Lwandle Mbelu.

A year later, e.tv took to its official website to announce that Ntando would be joining its soap opera, Rhythm City. Her new character in the soap opera was Zinzi Dandala, and she acts alongside Dumisani Mbebe, her onscreen father Doc Dandala, Hlubi Mboya who serves as her onscreen sister Thandeka Nandala and Thembi Seete who is her onscreen mother by the character name Bongi Diamond.

In Rhythm City, Zinzi Dandala father has an interest in Lerato (acted by Samkelo Ndlovu) who is a rising musician.

Ntando has also featured in many other TV shows, and her future seems to be brightening. Besides acting and TV presenting, Ntando is also a model and a founder of the Insire A Teen SA foundation.

Television:

She presented Sistahood, Craz-e and Shizniz. She joined the etv’s Rhythm City as Zinzi Dandala.

In June 2014 Ntando Duma was introduced as the new Craz-e presenter alongside fellow newcomer, Lwandle Mbelu. She had come out triumphant on e.tv’s '"Craz-e" Presenter search. “Ntando Duma, is a bright and energetic young lady from Johannesburg. She has her eyes firmly set on growing in the industry. Ntando was a Verification Officer for a company called BEE STRATA before she became Craz-e presenter. Ntando is also a founder of a Youth Development campaign called Inspire A Teen SA,” the June 2014 media reports said.

In May 2015 e.tv revealed via their website that Ntando Duma will be joining the channel’s soap opera, Rhythm City, where she will be portraying the character of “Zinzi Dandala”. On Rhythm City she acts alongside Dumisani Mbebe who portrays he onscreen father “Doc Dandala”, Hlubi Mboya who portrays her onscreen sister “Thandeka Dandala” and Thembi Seete who portrays her onscreen mother “Bongi Diamond” – a faded music star as well as Samkelo Ndlovu who portrays her on-screen father’s love interest, “Lerato”, a rising music star.

Modelling:

She is also a model and she was part of 2015 Soweto fashion week runway.

Philanthropy:

She is the founder member of Inspire A Teen South Africa. Inspire A Teen SA is a Youth Development campaign in South Africa with the aim of inspiring young teens.
