[Mathew 5:9] and [Mark 4:37-41]
He comes from His sleep and tells them not to be afraid. He wanted them to tell Him the reason for their fear as if He couldn’t see what was before them. There is something so profound about the grace of faith, the ability and the anointing called faith. It means, using faith, Jesus wanted them to do something about the storm. He says if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you shall say unto a mountain “be ye removed and be cast into the sea” and it shall be so. He said with faith and not with secular education, He didn’t say not after your faith has grown to the size of the problem but with the small faith. He didn’t say you shall say unto God but unto the mountain. Some of us exercise faith towards God and not when talking to our mountains. Removing mountains is not a prayer. There is a kind of faith to be channelled towards removing mountains.
With faith you’ll speak to the problem and not to God about the problem. Its not about the will of God but your will regarding the problem. Jesus sees the nature of this economy and still asks you why you are afraid. It is an abuse of grace to fear things that even God is not even aware of. If the storm was big enough to make people afraid Jesus would have acknowledged it. Why all this panic all of a sudden? Why are you being driven by storms? Don’t be driven by your car. Don’t be controlled by money, control money. God does not want anything external to control you because everything external has to be controlled by something internal. Jesus rebuked the wind for the sake of the fearful, God now is in the business of addressing problems that aren’t His problems. Solving situations that we have defined as problems, something that should have been done by His own people. We’re no longer His servants but He’s now our servant. Do you think you’re being humble by sending Him to do what you are supposed to do? He wants us to make use of the available grace.
[John 14:27] The disciples were now fearful not of the storm but of the manner in which Jesus had dealt with the storm. Some of you here could have been afraid of the storm in your life but you should enter another fear of the way God will deal with your storm. They asked “what kind of a man is this?” The subject matter changed and it was no longer about the storm but about Jesus. When we received Jesus that is the Jesus we received. Even the wind and the storm behave according to His instruction. You have the same Jesus who said in [John 14:27], peace I leave unto you. The shocking part is we have Jesus and He’s handing over peace to His disciples here but they never got it.
Over there we have Jesus who stretches forth His hand towards the wind, says peace, and the wind got it. For there to be a great calm, the sea and wind had to receive peace from Jesus and those who were given the peace and never got the peace marvelled at the obedience of nature. They marvelled that nature received much faster from God that humans did. The healing in pain killers was also given unto you but when you want healing you have to get it through the painkillers but it was put there by God. Trees, roots and leaves received healing from God not to heal themselves but man who failed to receive the same healing.
The kind of a God that we serve, you can’t even begin to explain Him. Blessed are the peacemakers for they shall be called the sons of God. When we speak, something comes out of us for from the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks. There was darkness till God opened His mouth and said “let there be light” and there was light. The devil likes it when you are quiet and especially when you are crying. Nothing happens when you’re crying but something happens when you’re talking. Pastor was giving me some updates. When I stood here last Sunday and I spoke a word and I broke the silence over the terrorism and killings that is happening across mining areas in our country but it had been there for more than five months. I said there are no reports about it as the media was silent and that it is killing more than cholera. From Monday till today, it has been coming out in the papers. It’s not because they heard me from the preaching because that part was removed from the edited sermon. It was not supposed to get there physically but through the atmosphere. Be observant, it has not yet been sorted but the process has begun.
There is nothing that chases away an investor more than absence of peace. These people we want to invest in our country don’t get information about our status from local news outlets so even if you spend years saying everything is okay, they have a higher system of investigating our environment before investing. South Africa has been affected greatly by how they have not attended to crime because there has been no politician there that has made it his priority to deal with crime. Peace has to be created by the people. Can you imagine a man sits on the chest of another man and begins cutting him, goes home and still today he has not been arrested. If it is not stopped early, killing each other will become the norm and we won’t be able to control it again. These are different groups being led by influential people and they won’t be arrested. There is extreme silence about it as if its not happening. If there’s anything that threatens life I will talk about it. Imagine in our country we have relatives without hands and all in the name of politics. Blood relatives were selling each other out and now there is blood all over the place with no justification. All that is the politics of the uneducated and the unsaved. Why is it that we cannot sacrifice like that for God? There is a spirit of violence in the air which needs to be controlled by the children of God. Unless the wind obeys us there will be trouble.

Even when things are wrong around you, the best thing is to control them. Jesus wasn’t afraid of the storm because he had the ability to stop it. There is no problem you can have that you do not have the ability to stop. It’s not only God but us who have the ability to adrress our situation. The peace that you desire as husband and wife can be created. Peace is a child that you have to conceive to bring it forth. When Jews meet they say “Shalom” to each other, peace. Remember our God is calls the Prince of peace because He manages peace. Don’t allow the world to create peace and give it to you. Usamirire kuti zvinakidze kuti unakidzwe. Chii chinoita kuti nyika inakidze? There are people that are ever serious! Imbozororayi. Uri kufungei? Uri president wenyika here? Fara ufarisise. If you wait for it to be well externally for you to have peace internally, you won’t have peace.
Because we are bigger than our environment, we don’t take order from the storm but even the wider hears us. Learn to celebrate, learn to enjoy. Pray that God helps to to realise the peace that you carry.
